Ian Erickson is a composer, musician, and craftsman based in Berkeley, California.
As a composer Ian has worked with JACK Quartet for their Studio Reading sessions, Sirius Quartet, Kyle Aho, PARMA Recordings, auditor for the Bahlest Eeble Reading program with the Gabriela Lena Frank Creative Academy of Music, and recipient of a Dresher Ensemble Artist Residency. Independently he has written and recorded three albums, t ö l u r , \textures/ , lɵvɵl , and spends time developing and building his own musical instruments.
In the East Bay Area Ian works as a studio and shop assistant for Paul Dresher, dance accompanist for The University of California Berkeley, and is composer and musician for the shadow art and puppetry productions of Odd Savvy.
Originally from southwest Missouri, he is a graduate of Missouri State University, and holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Music Composition and Jazz Studies with an emphasis in drum set performance. Ian has also obtained formal instruction from the Port Townsend School of Woodworking.
